The first time I heard of this Australian duo was in England, when I went for a visit, mainly to buy some new Music, last October. I bought the album because I liked the sleeve concept and because of one song *Walking on a Dream*. I tucked it away for a while, forgetting about it…I have so much music, between cds and vinyls, that it is normal, for me! Until I saw the album sleeve on the shelves of a record store, saying that it had just come out (in Italy!), and that was just recently. So here I am…The Duo’s first single is, of course, *Walking on a Dream* and *We are the People*, second single…I wonder how much money was spent on all these videos…the first one in Shanghai, the second in Mexico…wow! I think Empire of the Sun’s sound is great, and it just grows on you every time you listen! For sure theirs will be the album of the Year and best new Pop Duo… They are Sleepy Jackson and Pnau (real names: Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore), for the joy of their Recording Label and…of the people in the world! Something new, something cool...something absolutely crazy, with their psychedelic looks, colorful attire, and a mixture of nu/future and old sounds, with a name that they borrowed from a movie of Steven Spielberg… EMPIRE OF THE SUN…great!

La prima volta che ho sentito/visto questo Duo Australiano era quando mi trovavo in Inghilterra per un viaggio, Ottobre dell’anno scorso. Ho comperato l’album perche mi piaceva la copertina e per via della canzone *Walking on a Dream* (Camminando su un Sogno), che mi piaceva tanto. L’ho messo via per un periodo, quasi dimenticandomene…Ho talmente tanta musica, tra cds e vinili, che e’ piuttosto normale per me (che mi passi di mente)! Poi, ho visto la copertina dell’album sugli scaffali delle uscite (in Italia) di un negozio del settore…quindi, eccomi qui a parlarne brevemente ed in maniera molto entusiasta… IL primo singolo e’ quello che ho appena menzionato e poi *We are the People* (Noi siamo il Popolo), il secondo. Mi domando quanti soldi sono stati spesi per fare questi due videos: il primo a Shanghai, il secondo in Mexico…incredibile! A mio avviso, il loro sound e’ fantastico, e piu’ Lo senti, piu’ vuoi sentirlo! Di sicuro sara’ votato come migliore album Pop dell’Anno e saranno anche nominati come migliore nuovo Duo… I loro nicknames sono Sleepy Jackson (sleepy vuol dire assonnato) e Pnau (i nomi veri sono: Luke Steele e Nick Littlemore) e la loro Casa Discografica ne sara’ sicuramente felice, specialmente, per gli incassi che stanno portando! Qualcosa di nuovo, qualcosa di molto fuori dalla norma…qualcosa tinto di follia, con il loro look piuttosto psichedelico, vestiario colorato, ma soprattutto per il misto proposto di sounds: sia nuovo/futuro che del passato, ed in piu’ con un nome che e’ stato preso in prestito dal titolo di un movie di Steven Spielberg… EMPIRE OF THE SUN…(L’impero del sole)…bravissimi!
